When I was in college, my favorite drug of choice was always caffeine. I Needed it get out of bed, to get through my first class of the day and to get through those long all nighters before an exam. I got my “fix” in the form of Coffee.
Through some research, I discovered that I was not the only one. Through the national coffee association, a study was conducted in 2017 that came to the conclusion that coffee was the number two drink among college students. This was a close second behind bottled water. “Furthermore, as a “pick-me-up” beverage of choice, coffee is by far the favorite, with 52.4% of college students choosing it.”
Another study conducted by the University of Kentucky stated that 78% of college students drink more than the recommended amount of coffee per day and on average they are spending between $20-$90 a month on coffee. We took a spin on this for Brewed scoops. Instead of making an expensive coffee shop with a bunch of different flavors and creamers, we decided to create an affordable coffee shop where the sweetener and the creamer comes in the form of vanilla bean ice cream. It mimics the feel of a float but its creamier, delicious and the perfect pick me up.
